For better or worse, I agreed to give a talk as part of this (apparently) very popular lecture series in San Francisco. I’ll be going through various poems that explore how to love, how to grieve, how to find meaning, how to experience beauty and how to stay curious in a difficult world. In this innovative Litquake event, a fiction writer and a poet team up and read each other’s work. Katie Lateef Jan and Dean Rader read from and discuss their collaborative translation of Pablo Neruda's great poem, The Heights of Macchu Picchu, recently published in a fine press edition by The Economy Press. The event is free and open to the public.
